MOLINE, IL – Thanks to a $25,000 gift from the Hunt and Diane Harris Family Foundation, spaces on the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities campus are now adorned with art created by students and by a local artist.

The gift for artwork enhancements includes equipment and supplies to display student art and includes two projectors, which run a continuous display of drawings, paintings and photographic art within the halls of WIU-QC.

"We are very thankful to the Harris Family Foundation for once again honoring Western Illinois University-Quad Cities," said Vice President for Quad Cities and Planning Joe Rives. "The very generous gift from Hunt and Diane will support the display of art through Riverfront Campus and enable us to showcase the works of students, faculty, staff and community members in our welcoming and inclusive environment to all."

The donation benefits WIU-QC students enrolled in the museum studies master's degree program by providing an opportunity to learn about exhibition and art preparation.

In addition to the artwork enhancements, Hunt Harris has donated 12 framed pieces of his photography, which can be viewed in room 2222 in the QC Complex at WIU-QC.

Western Illinois University-Quad Cities recently held its first art exhibition on campus, which featured artwork from students, faculty, alumni and Harris.
