MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois residents (who live within a 16-county region in Illinois) can now check out materials from the Western Illinois University Curriculum Library on the campus of WIU in Macomb.

According to Senior Library Specialist David Macchi, individuals living in Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Peoria, Pike, Rock Island, Schuyler, Stark or Warren counties in Illinois are eligible to borrow items.

"Once documentation is provided, an individual will be issued a special library
card and may borrow materials from the Western Illinois University Curriculum Library for a period of two weeks at a time. As a security measure, photo identification is required (in addition to the library card) to borrow items," Macchi explained. "The collection consists of a large collection of books (all age levels, fiction and non-fiction), educational games, CDs, DVDs and teaching aids."

The WIU Curriculum Library is located in Horrabin Hall, room 80. Summer hours are: 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday (see www.wiu.edu/libraries/curriculum_library/hours.php for hours during the school year and on breaks).
