MACOMB, IL — Do you need your password reset? Are you having trouble setting up wireless access on your smartphone? University Technology's (uTech) Support Center can help students, faculty and staff resolve these common problems and many more.

Walk-in technology support for WIU-Macomb students and employees was moved back to Stipes Hall 126 over the summer (during the spring 2016 semester, the center was located in the University Union).

The uTech Support Center in Stipes is now open for walk-in assistance between 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. on weekdays (except during holidays and school closures). Phone and chat support is available Monday–Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m., on Friday from 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m.–9 p.m.

For the WIU-QC campus, students and employees should contact the uTech Support Center at (309) 298-TECH. Local support technicians there can assist individuals with requests after they contact the support center in Macomb.

Due to the high volume of Support Center calls anticipated at the start of the semester, faculty and staff with questions regarding the transition from Zimbra to Google Apps, which also happened over the summer, are asked to contact their local departmental "Google Guide" for assistance before contacting the Support Center. A list of all the University's Google Guides is available at www.wiu.edu/googleapps/resources/googleguides.php.

Because of the closure of the uTech Computer Store in the University Union in July, in-store sales and both warranty and non-warranty repairs for personally owned Apple and Dell products are no longer available; however, University Technology is considering options that may potentially permit some of these services to be provided to students later this semester. Please note that University Technology will still continue to repair University-owned equipment.

If you have questions or concerns about these recent changes, contact the Support Center at (309) 298-TECH or visit wiu.edu/supportcenter to chat online with a uTech Support Center technician.
