Services Set for Kenneth Nimrick, WIU Ag Professor Emeritus

MACOMB/STRONGHURST, IL — Services for Western Illinois University School of Agriculture Faculty Emeritus Kenneth O. Nimrick (Stronghurst, IL) will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst (IL). Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the funeral home.

Nimrick, 70, an army veteran, passed away Aug. 20. He started as a full-time faculty member in the School of Agriculture in 1998 and worked at WIU until he retired in 2012. During his tenure at Western, he was also the Bull Test Station manager, as well as well the manager of the University's beef herd.

"As one individual has commented on Facebook, 'Ken had a contagious smile that all of his colleagues and students loved,'" said School of Agriculture Director Andy Baker. "He was a very gentle man, as well as a nationally recognized beef producer and educator. He will be deeply missed."
