Randy Kowalski to Present to WIU CBT Students for Professional Development Series

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's College of Business and Technology (CBT) students will have the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship from Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Deputy Director Randy Kowalski Thursday, Sept. 22 as part the CBT Professional Development Series.

Kowalski, the deputy director of the Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology (EIT), will present a session from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in Stipes Hall, room 121. He will discuss the benefits of entrepreneurship in Illinois, as well as give tips on becoming a successful entrepreneur.

"I am looking forward to visiting Western Illinois University," said Kowalski. "Educating young people on entrepreneurship is one of the most important things we do here at DCEO/EIT, and I am excited to meet and speak to the students."

Each fall semester, the Western Illinois University CBT students have a chance to participate in a wide variety of sessions designed to prepare them for the job search and a successful career in business. The 2016 WIU College of Business and Technology Professional Development Series is being held Sept. 8-27. The series offers sessions that focus on networking, personal branding, professional dress, résumé building, interviewing, communication, issues in social media, personal finance, leadership and dining etiquette.
