First Wednesday Scheduled for Oct. 5

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University Department of Art will host another session of First Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.

The event is open to anyone who wants to experience art. This month's schedule includes:

Garwood Hall activities:

• Watercolor monoprints – Professors Julie Mahoney, Jan Clough and Bill Howard, room 13

• Halloween silkscreens – Professor Susan Czechowski, room 16

• Chalk mural – Professor Terry Rathje, room 22

• Artmaking for children – Halloween masks – Professor Ta-teh Ku, room 24

• Antique plate photos – Professor Jenny Knavel, room 37, one print per group, photo taking stops at 8:30 p.m.

• Palette knife painting – Professors Tim Waldrop and Damon MacArthur, room 30

Heating Plant Annex activities:


• Castlefest and wheel throwing – Professor Ian Shelly, room 111

• Paper plutonic solids – Professor Duke Oursler, room 105

• Woven/twisted wire bracelets – Professor Kat Myers, room 107

The University Art Gallery will also be open late Wednesday evening.
