Beerfest Planned for Oct. 22 at The Forum

MACOMB, IL – The Performing Arts Society (PAS) at Western Illinois University will hold its eighth annual Beerfest from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at The Forum in downtown Macomb.

Admission for the public is $10 in advance and $12 at the door, and admission for students in $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Advance admission tickets are available at West Pierce Liquors, 111 W. Pierce St. or at the Hainline Theatre Box Office on the WIU campus.

More than 60 beers will be available for sampling, and free snacks will be served. Individual tickets for sampling are $1 each.

This year, a festival package is available for $30, which includes a VIP wristband, flat rate sampling, a food package and a ticket to WIU's Oct. 22 home football game against North Dakota State (which begins at 6 p.m.).

The event is also being held in conjunction with Dads' Day at Western.

Samples from regional breweries will be available, including Bent River, of Moline, IL; Front Street, of Davenport, IA; the Iron Spike, of Galesburg, IL; Laguintas, of Chicago; Revolution, of Chicago; the Boston Beer Company, of Boston, MA; Shipyard, of Portland, ME and Sierra Nevada, of Chico, CA.

This year's event is sponsored by West Pierce Liquors, The Forum, Hy-Vee, Jimmy John's, the PAS and the Western Illinois University College of Fine Arts and Communication.
