WIU School of Engineering to Host Engineering Week Feb. 20-24

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- The Western Illinois University School of Engineering will host Engineering Week 2017 at the WIU-Quad Cities campus Feb. 20-24, with a variety of activities and programs taking place throughout the week.

The School of Engineering is co-sponsoring "Family Fun Night" at the Putnam Museum in Davenport, IA, which includes the premiere of "Dream Big." Show times are 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Activity tables with engineering-related activities, including a table staffed by WIU Academic Club for Engineering, will also be a part of the event. Reservations, which can be made at http://tinyurl.com/z3qvw27, are required as seating is limited.

The "official" Engineering Week kick-off event will be held from noon-1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 in the WIU-QC Complex atrium. Other events throughout the week include:

Feb. 21: Community Open House, 7:30-8:45 a.m., Riverfront Hall 103/104; Women in Engineering panel discussion, 5-7 p.m., QC Complex. Reservations for these events, which can be made at http://tinyurl.com/hhn4xvr and http://tinyurl.com/haf5knt, respectively, are required.

Feb. 22: "Lunch & Learn" with Scott Hutter, director of the Quad Manufacturing Innovation Hub, noon-1 p.m., Riverfront Hall 103/104; School of Engineering Alumni Panel, 5-7 p.m., Riverfront Hall 111. Reservations for these events, which can be made at http://tinyurl.com/z5cusqw and http://tinyurl.com/gus59r4, respectively, are required.

Feb. 23: Business Etiquette Lunch (junior/senior level WIU students), noon-1 p.m.; "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day," Putnam Museum; Quad Cities ESC Dinner, 6-9 p.m.

Feb. 24: "We Love our Donors" calls 9-10 a.m.; Closing event, noon-2 p.m., QC Complex atrium.

All week: Engineering-related games and activities in the Riverfront Hall atrium.
