MACOMB, IL – The Department of History at Western Illinois University will host the fifth annual Women's History Month Lecture, "Trailblazing Women in Business and Labor." The lecture will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 23, in the Malpass Library Garden Lounge.

History Professor Ginny Boynton, Associate Professor of History Ute Chamberlin and History Department Interim Chair Jen McNabb will discuss women's achievements in business and labor. Their presentation will cover the evolution of females in guilds from modern England, as entrepreneurs in the 19th and 20th centuries, and as labor organizers in modern day United States.

"It's always a great opportunity to remind people of the importance of women's unique contributions historically," said Chamberlin.

This event is open free to the public.
