Dennis Crowe Obituary

MACOMB, IL – Funeral services for Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus Dennis Crowe will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11 at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. Crowe passed away Wednesday, March 8 in Macomb.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 10 and one hour before the funeral at the funeral home.

Crowe came to WIU in 1997 and retired as a professor in the WIU Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. He taught park planning and tourism. In addition to teaching, Crowe worked on recreation- and tourism-related projects around the world, ranging from a 1988 tourism project for the city of Havana, IL, to designing a national park in Korea. Crowe also taught at the University of London and gave presentations in China.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne; three children, Kathleen, Dennis and Whitney, and 13 grandchildren.
