MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois earned a #14 seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament and will travel to Tallahassee, Florida, to take on Florida State in First Round action on Friday (March 17) inside the Donald L. NCAA Ticket information will be release in the near future.

The Leathernecks (26-6) earned The Summit League's automatic bid by defeating IUPUI in overtime 77-69. Western, who also won the league's regular season title, is currently on an 11-game winning streak heading into the NCAA First Round game.

Western will meet 13th-ranked (USA Today Top 25 Coaches poll) Florida State for the first time in program history. The Seminoles (25-6) are led by the coaches' selection as ACC Player of the Year Shakayla Thomas. FSU lost to Miami in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals.
