Save the Date: WIU Homecoming 2017!

MACOMB, IL -- The story of Western Illinois University is a great work of non-fiction ... from its humble beginnings in 1899 (opening in 1902) to the comprehensive University it is today, the tale of a university set in west central Illinois and the proud alma mater of over 130,000 alumni is part of this year's WIU Homecoming.

Alumni and friends should mark their calendars now for Sept. 29-30 to take part in a "Storybook Homecoming: A Tale of Leatherneck Pride." Homecoming activities begin Friday, Sept. 22 with "Paint the Paws," sponsored by WIU's Student Alumni Association, and the official University Union Board (UUB) Homecoming Kickoff, which includes games, music, food, giveaways and more.

Other activities include Paint the Town (Sept. 23), Rocky's Boat Regatta and Dec the Campus (Sept. 24), Homecoming Kick-Off and Dec the Office (Sept. 25), Variety Show (Sept. 26) Yell Like Hell (Sept. 28), WIU Volleyball Spirit Game (Sept. 29), All-Alumni Social (Sept. 29), Homecoming Fun Run/Walk, Parade (10:30am) and alumni events at Hanson Field/Q-Lot and the Leatherneck Football Game (Sept. 30).
