WIU Alumni Honored as School Administrators

MACOMB, IL – Of the 21 recipients of this year's Superintendent of Distinction award from the Illinois Association of School Administrators, eight are alumni of Western Illinois University.

The winners were honored at an April 24 luncheon in Springfield, along with honorees from the Illinois Principals Association. They were chosen by their peers based on four criteria, including leadership for learning, communication, professionalism and community involvement.

WIU graduates honored with the award include:

• Kyle Ganson of the Colona School District 190 - Ed Specialist in Ed Admin 

• John Asplund of Farmington Central District 265 – M.S. in Ed Admin and Ed Specialist in Ed Admin

• Darryl Taylor of the Lincoln Elementary School District 156 – M.S. in Ed Admin and Ed Specialist in Ed Admin

• Dan Oest of the Richmond-Burton CHSD 157/Nippersink SD 2 - BS in Men's PE

• Tom Mahoney of the Oregon District 220 - completes his Ed.D. in Ed Admin this May 2017

• Gina Segobiano of Columnia CUSD 4 - BS in Elementary Ed

• Kerry Cox of the Carrollton CUSD 1- M.S. Elementary Ed

• Kyle Scot Reynolds of Spoon River Valley CUSD 4 – M.S. Biology
