Farewell Reception for Comerford Set for Aug. 9

MACOMB, IL – A farewell reception for Western Illinois University Union Director Ann Comerford will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the University Union Lamoine Room.

She has resigned from the University after 18 years of service to accept a new position in Springfield.

Comerford came to WIU in July 1999 as the assistant director of student activities. She became director of student activities in July 2006, and accepted her current position in September 2010.

Prior to coming to Western, Comerford was a special programs and center events graduate assistant at Southern Illinois University, and served as a hall coordinator and assistant director of campus activities at Quincy University.
