LaMoine River Clean-Up Sept. 23

MACOMB, IL – Volunteers are being sought for a clean-up of the LaMoine River from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 23 at the Western Illinois University Facilities Management parking lot, just north of the University Drive and Western Avenue intersection.

Volunteers are needed to clean up the river, which is the sixth largest tributary of the Illinois River. The event is open to members of the WIU and Macomb communities and garbage bags and gloves will be provided by WIU.

The event is sponsored by Western Illinois University, the LaMoine River Ecosystem Partnership and the Peace of Earth Lodge and Environmental Learning Center.
