Knoblauch Cafe Releases Fall Semester Menu

MACOMB, IL – The Knoblauch Café at Western Illinois University will serve nutritional lunches from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Tuesdays during the Fall 2017 semester.

The first lunch will be served Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the Knoblauch Hall Corporate Dining Room 239. Every meal is $7, which includes a beverage and dessert. Carry outs are available and delivery is available within Knoblauch hall.

The meals are organized and run by students in the WIU Department of Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising and Hospitality (DFMH). The Knoblauch Café provides students with hands-on experience running a foodservice facility.

Bow tie pasta with tomato cream sauce, bruschetta, Olive Garden salad and chocolate layer torte

Tuesday, Oct. 3
Chicken quesadilla/vegetable quesadilla, southwest salad with tortilla chips and Oreo cheesecake cupcake

Tuesday, Oct. 10
Chicken piccata/vegetable piccata, linguine noodles, garlic bread, salad with poppy seed dressing and gooey butter cake

Tuesday, Oct. 17
Hawaiian ham and cheese sliders, Hawaiian roll caprese sliders, loaded baked potato soup, Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie sundae

Tuesday, Oct. 24
Lasagna/vegetarian lasagna, Caesar salad, cheese biscuit and buttercream cupcake

Tuesday, Oct. 31
Turkey panini/veggie panini, broccoli cheese soup and chocolate mousse

Tuesday, Nov. 7
Oven fried chicken/roasted acorn squash, California vegetable medley, glazed carrots and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream

Tuesday, Nov. 14
Herb pork tenderloin/vegetable stuffed Portobello mushroom, twice baked potato, green bean casserole and bread pudding

Tuesday, Nov. 28
Chili/vegetable chili, three cheese panini and pumpkin bar with cream cheese frosting
