MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Department of Curriculum and Instruction Office Manager Deb Lutz has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for December.

Lutz began working at Western in October 2006 as an office support associate in University Housing and Dining Services. She was promoted to office support specialist in August 2009, moving to the WIU Department of Geography. In August 2012, she was audited to the office manager position and in June 2016, she moved to curriculum and instruction.

According to her nominator, Lutz is "extremely professional while her fulfilling duties."

"She is highly organized, has excellent computer skills and successfully juggles all of her responsibilities, while keeping the office running smoothly and efficiently," the nominator said. "Every time she is asked for assistance, she responds in a timely manner and takes the time to work individually with graduate students. She always has the office decorated for the appropriate season and her artistic talents enabled the department to compete, and win, the best office for Homecoming."
