Annual WIU Holiday Festival of Choirs Saturday, Dec. 2

MACOMB, IL -- The 24th annual Western Illinois University Holiday Festival of Choirs will be held Saturday, Dec. 2 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 309 W. Jackson St., Macomb.

A matinee concert will begin at 2 p.m., and the evening concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The performances will feature choirs of WIU singers, madrigal singers and the concert choir. Special guests will include the 60-voice Holiday Festival Children's Chorus and the Macomb High School Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers.

Gayle Cooper will serve as the Holiday Festival organist. Audience members can join in on a carol sing, including the traditional singing of the "Hallelujah Chorus," from Handel's Messiah.

General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased through the Hainline Theatre Box Office Monday-Friday from noon-5 p.m. or by calling (309) 298-2900. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, if they have not sold out before the performances.

WIU students can enter free with a valid student ID.
