Guest Recital to Feature Chicago Trombonist

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a guest recital, featuring Thomas Stark, a Chicago-based trombonist, and pianist Liang-yu Wang, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Stark is principal trombonist with the Northwest Indiana Symphony, New Philharmonic, Camerata di Chicago, and the Elmhurst Symphony and trombonist with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to being a first-call freelance trombonist in the Chicago area, Stark is an adjunct professor of trombone at Elmhurst College, Concordia University Chicago and Harper College. 

Wang is a WIU staff collaborative pianist. The pair will perform works by Grondahl, Albrechtsberger, Sulek and Hindemith. The performance open free to the public.
