Annual Ralph Dirksen Tech Expo Set for April 6, 13

MACOMB, IL – MACOMB, IL – The 59th annual Ralph Dirksen Tech Expo will be held Western Illinois University from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, April 6 and Friday April 13 in Knoblauch Hall, room 106.

The event, sponsored by WIU's Department of Engineering Technology, is for prospective students, both undergraduate and graduate, to see student projects, tour WIU facilities and learn about opportunities available with a degree in construction management, engineering technology, graphic communication, engineering technology leadership and instructional design and technology.

The schedule of events includes:

• 10-10:45 a.m. - Welcome and introduction

• 10:15-12:30 p.m. – Lab tours in 3D printing, building information modeling, CAM/CNC machining, computer automated design – AutoCAD, electrical power systems, graphic communications, instructional design and technology, the plasma cutter and sandblasting, robotics, safety and woodshop and welding.

Lunch will be served at noon.
