WIU School of Agriculture Hosts Fourth Legacy Sale

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture recently hosted its fourth annual Legacy Sale online with Willoughby Livestock Sales.

The sale was directed by WIU senior agriculture major Olivia Claire, of Watseka, IL. Claire said there were 122 lots, donated by various businesses, alumni and supporters of the School of Agriculture.

"Donations came in from near and far," said Claire. "On Tuesday, April 17, the sale ended around 10:30 p.m. and there were around 100 buyers. The sale brought in a record $48,225 for the agriculture department."

Claire added that funds raised are used to help the animal science curriculum at Western.

Over the past four years, the sale has brought in more than $168,000.
