Farewell Reception for Matt Bierman

MACOMB, IL – A farewell reception for Western Illinois University Vice President for Administrative Services Matt Bierman will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 10 in the University Union Lamoine Room.

Bierman has resigned from the University after 19 years of service to accept a position at Illinois Wesleyan. His last day at WIU is Friday, May 11.

"We thank Matt for his many years of service and dedication to Western Illinois University," said President Jack Thomas. "He has been a valuable member of the leadership team, and he will be missed."

Bierman was named vice president for administrative services in May 2017, after serving as the interim vice president since January 2016. In addition to serving as the vice president, Bierman was also the University's budget director from April 2012 until December 2017.
Previously, Bierman had served as the director of residential facilities at WIU from 2006-2012. He also served as the assistant director of residential facilities and administration at WIU (2003-2006); St. Louis Rams Summer Training Camp Coordinator at WIU (1999-2004); complex director at Western (1999-2003) and assistant residence hall director at Ball State University (1997-1999).
