MACOMB, IL — Western Illinois University's Performing Arts Society (PAS) will host its annual Wine Tasting event between 4-6 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Macomb Country Club, 20 Hickory Grove.

The PAS Wine Tasting is sponsored by Citizens Bank – A division of Morton Community Bank.

This event includes the chance to mingle with other wine lovers, eat, learn more about PAS, enjoy music from a live jazz quartet and try several wines. There will be a wide range of 60 wine varieties at the event, including Cabernets, merlots, Chardonnays and more. Guests will receive a souvenir wine glass and there will be 10-11 tables set up for sampling. Those attending can try as many wines as they would like as part of the admission price.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door and $20 for non-wine drinkers. Guests who stay for dinner at the Macomb Country Club will receive a 10-percent discount on each entrée. Attendees must be ages 21 or older.

This year's PAS Wine Tasting is a cocktail and/or black-tie attire event. The event will be hosted outside if weather permits. There will be a free golf course shuttle for anyone who may need it coming or leaving the parking lot.

All proceeds benefit four programs - The Youth Performing Arts Series (YPAS), which is fully funded by PAS and provides live shows for area school children - each year approximately 7,000 children experience these shows - scholarships for high school and junior high students attending the Summer Music Institute (SMI) camps; art grants to faculty, as well as community grants for arts organizations and the Senior Arts Series (SAS), a new program for residents of assisted living communities. The College of Fine Arts and Communication provides concerts for the residents at a convenient afternoon time and PAS provides refreshments.
