WIU Students Awarded Scholarships to Study Abroad

MACOMB, IL – Students at Western Illinois University were recently awarded numerous scholarships to study abroad.

This year's winners include:

• Alexa Hardy, a senior law enforcement and justice administration major, from Champaign, IL, was awarded the $4,000 Gilman Scholarship to study abroad in Russia during Spring 2018.

• Gilman Internships for Summer 2018 were awarded to Jasmine Brown, a senior exercise science major from Rock Island, IL, who will intern in Chile, and Cintya Lopez, a senior exercise science major, who will intern in Spain.

• Sara Devine, a senior music education major, from Springfield, IL, was awarded $8,000 from the Hagan Scholarship Foundation to study in Greece during Summer 2018.

• John Nichols, a senior interdisciplinary studies major, from Oneida, IL, was awarded the prestigious $10,000 Boren Scholarship to study abroad in the Czech Republic in Fall 2018.

• Eden Driscoll, a college student personnel graduate student from Caledonia, MI, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in South Korea.
