Beta Alpha Psi Named Superior Chapter

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Zeta Beta chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) was recently recognized internationally by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as a Superior Chapter for its efforts during the 2017-18 academic year.

Margaret Fioretino, executive director of BAP student chapters for the AICPA, contacted Instructor of Accountancy and WIU Faculty Advisor for Beta Alpha Psi Cheryl Westen to notify her.

"Mrs. Westen has done a tremendous job in promoting and sustaining a culture of excellence with the students of Beta Alpha Psi," said WIU Department of Accounting and Finance Chair Gregg Woodruff. "The culture of excellence emphasizes academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth and social responsibility."

Beta Alpha Psi is a financial information honorary organization for students and professionals with the primary objective of encouraging or giving recognition to scholastic or professional excellence.
