'First Wednesday' Art Program Sept. 5 at WIU

MACOMB, IL – The inaugural "First Wednesday" art program of the Fall 2018 semester will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.

The WIU art faculty combine their efforts to offer creative, hands-on activities to visitors. The event is open free to the public, and visitors are welcome from campus and the surrounding community and region.

This month's events include:

• Printmaking with Cyanotypes

Silkscreened T-shirts – Professors Jenny Knavel and Susan Czechowski, Garwood 11
Drawing – Professors Jan Clough and Julie Mahoney, Garwood 20
Photoshop – Professor Bruce Walters, Garwood 22
Children's Activity – Associate Professor Ta-teh Ku, Garwood 24
Clear Packing Tape Sculptures – Professor Tim Waldrop, Garwood 25
Single Panel Cartoons – Professor Damon McArthur, Garwood 30

• Fabric Sculptures
– Associate Professor Duke Oursler, HPA 105
Copper Jewelry – Department of Art Chair Kat Myers, HPA 107
Wheel Throwing – Assistant Professor Ian Shelly, HPA 111

The University Art Gallery will be open during the event.
