First Wednesday Art Program Nov. 7 at WIU

MACOMB IL — The November "First Wednesday" art program at Western Illinois University will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 7 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.
 
The event is free, open to all ages and welcomes visitors from campus and the surrounding community/region. First Wednesday has relied on numerous donations of materials from businesses like Blick Art Materials in Galesburg, IL, and through monetary support from the Performing Arts Society (PAS).
 
During this month's event, "The Lone Daisy" will be performing their new album in Garwood Hall, 10.
 
Garwood Hall Activities
 
• Printmaking

Holiday Postcards – Professors Jenny Knavel and Susan Czechowski, Garwood 11 (second floor)

• Drawing – Professors Jan Clough and Julie Mahoney, Garwood 20 (second floor) 

• Children's Activity - Holiday Themed Clock (limited to the first 40 children) – Associate Professor Ta-Teh Ku, Garwood 24 (second floor)  

Painting - Professor Tim Waldrop, Garwood 25 (second floor) 

Single Panel Cartoons – Professors Damon McArthur and Bruce Walters, Garwood 30 (third floor)
 

HPA Activities 

• Fabric Sculptures
– Associate Professor Duke Oursler, HPA 105
 
• Pressed Copper Ornaments – Department of Art Chair Kat Myers, HPA 107
 
One Inch Clay Challenge – Professor Ian Shelly, HPA 11

The University Art Gallery will be open late during this month's event with the exhibition "Don Crouch – Art Since Retirement," which is on display through Nov. 16 in the first floor gallery space.
