CIS Offering Cultural Simulation Nov. 8

MACOMB, IL -- The Center for International Studies will offer the cultural simulation, "Acirema," to Western Illinois University students, faculty and staff at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 in the Sherman Hall third floor auditorium.

This simulation allows participants to walk in the footsteps of an international student and to experience hands-on the process of applying to a U.S. institution all the way to arriving in the United States.

International students go through an entirely different admissions process and face additional challenges, including adapting to a new culture, once they arrive at WIU. This exercise creates awareness of this process, as well as information on the diverse international student population on campus.
