MACOMB, IL -- Kassie Daly, associate director of admissions at Western Illinois University-Quad Cities, has been named interim director of the WIU Office of Admissions, which is based in Macomb, effective Feb. 1, until a permanent replacement is named. A national search is currently underway for a director of undergraduate admissions and enrollment services.

Daly has served as associate director of admissions at WIU's Quad Cities campus since September 2014. In that role, she has been responsible for the daily operation of the QC admissions office and staff, directed overall recruitment efforts of transfer students for the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses, directed on-campus Quad Cities recruitment events, and managed a territory which includes two high schools and two community college districts. Prior to being named associate director, Daly had served as the assistant director for WIU-QC admissions since July 2011 and as an admissions counselor from May 2010-July 2011. Before joining Western, she was the director of admissions (2007-2009) and an admissions adviser (2004-2007) at John Wood Community College.

"Kassie's admissions experience will allow the Office of Admissions to maintain continuity and continue its outstanding work," said Ron Williams, vice president for student services.

Daly received her master's degree from the University of Illinois and her bachelor's degree from WIU.

The director of undergraduate admissions and enrollment services provides direct supervision for three associate directors and overall supervision for a large staff; and has fiscal responsibility of a budget in excess of $1.2 million. Reporting to the vice president for student services, the director provides leadership and management of day-to-day operations and workflow as determined by enrollment cycles, which includes but is not limited to application processing and review, decision notification, documentation of received documents, and accurate data entry. The director will design and implement an effective recruitment contact strategy for prospective students throughout Illinois, nationally, and internationally, and will assist academic areas in the development of recruitment and retention plans.
