MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture will host its third annual Chili Cook Off from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Macomb American Legion, 221 E. Washington St.

This year's judges are Macomb Mayor Mike Inman, Student Activities Program Coordinator Nicholas Katz and retired Sheriff Rick VanBrooker.

Tickets are $5 in advance, or $6 at the door. The sponsor of this year's event is Calcium Products.

Money raised through the event helps the WIU Ag Council host its annual awards banquet and to assist with community events, such as the holiday Angel Tree.

"We are very excited about the third annual chili cook off," said Ag Council Chair Claudia Bland. "This gives the School of Agriculture another opportunity to interact with the Macomb community. We also enjoy every opportunity to compete with our fellow aggies. We would love to see several members of the Macomb community at the American Legion to sample and vote on the best chili."
