WIU Director of Undergraduate Admissions & Enrollment Services Candidate Interviews April 3-4, April 22-23

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL -- Two candidates have been selected to interview for the Western Illinois University Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Enrollment Services position. The candidates will interview April 3-4 and April 22-23.

Candidates include Douglas Freed, former director of the Transfer Student Success Center at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI (April 3-4), and Caleb Grant, director of admissions and enrollment management at SUNY-Cobleskill (April 22-23).

Open sessions will be held from 1:15-2 p.m. April 3 in the University Union Capitol Room and from 1:15-2 p.m. April 22 in the Union Lincoln Room, and from 2-2:50 p.m. April 4 in the WIU-Quad Cities Riverfront Hall 103/104 and 10:30-11:20 a.m. April 23 in Riverfront Hall 103/104.

Freed served as the director of the Transfer Student Success Center at Wayne State University from 2015-2018. Previously, he was the dean of enrollment management at Delta College, University Center, MI from 2013-2015. Freed has also been the director of admissions, recruitment and enrollment development (2012-2013) and director of enrollment development (2002-2012) at Henry Ford Community College, Dearborn, MI. He also served as director of advertising and marketing (1998-2002), marketing coordinator (1993-1998), assistant director of admissions (1989-1993) and admissions counselor (1986-1989) at Wayne State University.

Freed earned his master's degree in public relations and organizational communication from Wayne State and his bachelor's degree in political science from University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Grant has served as director of admissions and enrollment management at SUNY-Cobleskill since 2018. Previously, he was the director of admissions at SUNY-Cobleskill from 2016-2018. Grant has also been the assistant director of admissions at SUNY-Cobleskill (2016) and an assistant director of pharmacy admissions at Albany (NY) College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (2013-2016). Grant has also served as an associate for Birmingham & Moore in Vermont (2011-2013), as assistant director of admissions at Champlain College in Vermont (2007-2009), as deputy director of the Vermont Democratic House Campaign (2006) and brand manager for Red Bull (2004-2006).

Grant earned his juris doctorate from the University Missouri School of Law and his bachelor's degree in environment and natural resources from the University of Vermont.
