MACOMB, IL – Cincinnati, OH artist Samantha Haring will have her exhibition, "Persistent Spaces" on display Tuesday, Oct. 1-Friday, Nov. 1, at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery.

A reception for the artist will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the gallery. The artist will speak about her work at 5 p.m.

The exhibition is made up of Haring's oil paintings and pastels.

"I make quiet paintings in a noisy world," she said. "My work is an intimate meditation on humble objects and the detritus of studio life. I aim to promote a reengagement with the mundane while creating a moment of reflection for the viewer."

The exhibit is open free to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon; 1-4 p.m. and Saturday 1-4 p.m. The gallery is closed on University holidays.
