WIU School of Ag Hosting Open House for Prospective Students Oct. 4

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture will host its annual Fall Open House for prospective students and their parents, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 in the University's Livestock Center. High school students and transfer students are welcomed to learn more about the University's agriculture program.

This event, sponsored by Alpha Gamma Rho alumni, is open free to the public. Registration includes a complimentary lunch.

School of Agriculture faculty and current students will be on hand to answer questions and to lead tours of the WIU-Macomb campus, the University Farm and WIU's agriculture facilities.

The Fall 2019 Ag Open House schedule includes:

• 9-9:45 a.m. - Registration and Student Fair

• 9:45-9:50 a.m. - Welcome by WIU Ag Vocators

• 9:50-10 a.m. - Welcome by WIU School of Agriculture Director Andrew Baker

• 10-10:10 a.m. - Welcome from Undergraduate Admissions

• 10:10-10:20 a.m. - Alumni guest speaker, 2007 graduate Bryn Jensson, of Smithfield Foods

• 10:20-11:20 p.m. - Farm Tour

• 11:30-Noon - Student Panel

• Noon-1 p.m. - Lunch with faculty at the Livestock Center

• 1 p.m. - Depart Livestock Center - Optional walking tour of campus to follow
