WIU College of Arts and Sciences to Host Third Annual College Day Oct. 18

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University College of Arts and Sciences will host its third annual College Day event from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18.

The event is an opportunity for high school students and their families to experience lectures and demonstrations in multiple academic areas in the College of Arts and Sciences and a chance to meet faculty and students, learn about careers in multiple majors and to tour the WIU campus.

Registration will begin in the University Union Grand Ballroom and attendees will have an opportunity to meet faculty and students in programs they are interested, attend special events in those programs and take a campus tour. Lunch will be provided, as well as coffee and doughnuts during registration.

This year's schedule includes:


• 8:30-9:20 a.m.: Registration and informal meetings with faculty

• 9:25-9:40 a.m.: Formal welcome and walk to class

• 10-10:50 a.m.: First class or special event

• 11-11:50 a.m.: Second class or special event

• Noon-12:50 p.m.: Lunch – University Union Grand Ballroom

• 1-2 p.m.: Campus tour, leaving from the Alumni Plaza, outside the University Union

• 2:10-3 p.m.: Informal visits with department chairs and students

Free parking is available on campus in Q-Lot.
