MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University's Clinical Community Mental Health (CCMH) graduate students and faculty participated as a team to raise funds and awareness through the Out of the Darkness Community Walk to Fight Suicide, Saturday, Sept. 28, in Macomb.

Ten graduate students and two faculty made up the CCMH Team, which raised $802 dollars for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; making them the fifth highest fundraising team in the local walk. The CCMH team participated in the walk around the Macomb square to highlight the need for support and treatment for those suffering in the community.

The CCMH program has contributed to the Macomb community and surrounding counties as a reliable and free provider of mental health services for more than 50 years. Within the context of providing training in helping skills to advanced graduate students in psychology, the mission of the Psychology Clinic is to help individuals and families improve the quality of their lives by assisting them in dealing with personal and interpersonal problems.
