MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University Office of Undergraduate Admissions has launched a new program to bring expert sources from WIU into area classrooms to provide additional learning opportunities for high school and community college students.

The Admissions' Speaker Outreach Initiative brings WIU faculty into regional high school and community college classrooms to speak about their area of expertise, in conjunction with topics and units being covered in the classroom. Teachers and counselors from area high schools and community colleges can request a speaker by visiting wiu.edu/admissions/schoolspeakers.

"We are excited to build upon our regional partnerships and share our exceptional faculty with area high school and community college classrooms," said Sarah Gibson, undergraduate admissions counselor and program facilitator. "We have outstanding faculty and staff who are expert sources in their subject matters, and many would be willing to take part in classroom discussions as partners with our area educators."
