MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University junior Paige Olin, a psychology major from LaHarpe, was named the 2020 Miss Macomb Feb. 15. Olin will compete for the title of Miss Illinois in Marion, IL in June.

"I look forward to traveling, meeting new people and getting the word out about my platform, 'Uncover the Cure,' which focuses on raising awareness about and providing support to those fighting pediatric cancer," Olin said.

At WIU, Olin is a part of the WIU Dance Marathon, which raises funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The 2016 Illini West graduate is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society.

As Miss Macomb, Olin received a $2,500 scholarship, including a gift-in-kind scholarship from the WIU Foundation. The WIU Foundation contributions make the Miss Macomb Scholarship Pageant one of the highest paid local scholarship pageants in Illinois.

In its 61st year, the Miss Macomb Scholarship Organization (MMSO) provides opportunities for young women to achieve their personal and professional ambitions. A not-for-profit affiliate of the Miss America Organization, over the years the MMSO has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships and in-kind funds to hundreds of young women throughout the area.
