MACOMB, IL -- Michelle Howe, Western Illinois University instructor of business communications, recently gained status as a Certified Professional Resume Writer through the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches (PARW-CC).

To earn this certification, Howe had to create both a résumé and cover letter for a fictitious client. The documents had to be error-free, follow the newest trends in résumé and cover letter writing, and meet standards set forth by the PARW-CC.

"The Professional Association of Résumé Writers & Career Coaches™ was founded in January 1990 for career professionals to exchange information, enhance their skills, and demonstrate their commitment to providing professional services to the general public," according to the PARW-CC website. "During the first year of CPRW, the Association developed a standard for testing résumé writers and awarding the Certified Professional Résumé Writer (CPRW) credential to those meeting the standard."

Howe joins nearly 2,000 other professionals worldwide who have received this certification.
