Director of Financial Aid Interview Nov. 24

MACOMB, IL – Bobbi Smith, interim director of financial aid at Western Illinois University, has been invited to interview for the permanent position following an internal search.
Smith will interview Tuesday, Nov. 24. An open session will be held at 2 p.m. via Zoom (register for the open session at https://form.jotform.com/203224985621051).
Smith has served as the interim director of financial aid since April 2020. She began her career at Western in 2011 as a financial aid manager and was named the assistant director of financial aid in 2015, and has concurrently served in that role while serving as the interim director. Before joining WIU, she was the coordinator of financial aid at Spoon River College for three years. Smith has also served as an auditor with the Illinois Office of the Auditor General in Springfield.
She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from WIU.
The director of financial aid provides administration, direction and supervision of all WIU Office of Financial Aid operations. The director creates the overall philosophy, goals, operating procedures, and principles for the University's comprehensive student financial aid programs.
