Francis Named May Employee of the Month

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Human Resource Officer Pam Francis has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for May.

Francis began working at WIU in September 2021 as a Human Resource Officer through the intern program, which she completed in August 2022.

According to her nominator, Francis recently assisted them with two job searches, and she was "knowledgeable, helpful and extraordinarily positive."

"She created an environment where I always felt comfortable asking questions, and I was confident her answers were always correct," the nominator added. "Both searches were successful, in part, because she was there to coach me through the search. She is the key to our future as an institution. Because of her, there are two new employees at the University. She embodies the Core Values by going above and beyond to support the staff at WIU."

The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year. Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for the monthly recognition should contact the Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at csec-nominations-g@wiu.edu.
