PARTNERS OF THE AMERICAS MEETING MARCH 20



MACOMB, IL – Members of the Western Illinois University and Macomb communities can learn more about Brazil and global volunteerism at a meeting on the WIU Macomb campus Saturday, March 20. The meeting will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. in Knoblauch Hall 152.

Sponsored by Partners of the Americas, the presentation is open free to the public. Partners members will showcase the work of the organization and will discuss volunteer opportunities in Brazil and Latin America.

Partners was founded in 1964 as the people-to-people component of the Alliance for Progress. Today it is a private, nonprofit and nonpartisan organization that is the largest volunteer-based group in the western hemisphere engaged in social, economic and cultural development. Partners carries out a wide range of activities to improve food supplies, deliver health services, provide job training, protect natural resources, safeguard women's and children's rights and promote cross-cultural understanding.
