MACOMB, IL – The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Dallas Mowen, an information technology assistant manager in University Information Management Systems (UIMS), has been selected as the January Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Mowen, who started working at Western in 1986 as a management analyst programmer II, was cited by his nominators for his ability to work through requests from a myriad of offices and campus organizations and provide them with timely and accurate information. “Dallas is extremely helpful in answering questions and makes people feel at ease,” his nominators added. Mowen was also recognized for his ability to think of better and more efficient ways of providing UIMS services. He has designed systems for maintaining and monitoring student information, and he “goes to great lengths to provide the information and assistance requested.”

“Dallas is to be commended for his tireless efforts to improve the information management systems on campus. He goes out of his way to provide accurate and efficient service,” said Janet Koll, CSEC public relations officer.

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should call Koll at 309/298-1811 or e-mail JM-Koll@wiu.edu.
