March 6 Public Officials Forum at Western Illinois University

MACOMB, IL – A public officials forum with state, county and local representatives will be held beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, March 6 in the Western Illinois University Union Nauvoo Room, located in the Heritage Ballroom on the second floor.

The forum, which was planned as a co-curricular activity for Professor William Anderson’s First Year Experience “Introduction to Political Science 101” class at Western, is open free to the public.

Officials include State Sen. John Sullivan (D-Rushville); State Rep. Rich Myers (R-Colchester); Illinois Appellate Court Justice Kent Slater; McDonough County State’s Attorney James Hoyle; McDonough County Coroner Larry Jameson; Deputy County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes; Macomb Mayor Mick Wisslead; and Illinois State Police District 14 Commander Capt. Robert Elliott.

Each official will give a brief presentation on the duties and responsibilities of their office. An audience question and answer session to discuss current issues will follow.
