Ag Department Open House

MACOMB, IL – At Western Illinois University, students in the agriculture program have exceptional opportunities to learn about and experience many areas of the disciplines outside of the classroom.

Prospective students are invited to attend Western’s department of agriculture’s open house Saturday, Oct. 7 to learn more about what WIU has to offer. Department faculty and current students, as well as agriculture alumni, will be on hand to answer questions and lead tours of the department’s facilities and labs, the campus, the University farm and Livestock Center, the bull test and ram test stations and swine facilities. Participants are also invited to attend a luncheon with faculty and students. The open house and luncheon are free of charge.

The open house begins with registration at 10 a.m. at the WIU Livestock Center, directly north of Western’s campus.

Registration - 10-10:30 a.m.
Welcome - 10:30-11 a.m., William Bailey,
agriculture department chair
Student Displays - 11-11:30 a.m.
Lunch - 11:30 – 12:45 p.m.
Faculty Panel - 1-2 p.m., Knoblauch Hall
Student Panel - 2-2:30 p.m., Knoblauch Hall
Tours - 2:30-3:30 p.m. (swine facilities,
ram test, alternative crops plots and bull test station;
horticulture and forestry
facilities)

Send your name, address, daytime phone number, e-mail address, the name of the school you are currently attending, anticipated date of attending Western and number attending the open house and luncheon.
