WIU Livestock Judging Team Places at Stockmen's Competition

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University livestock judging team had a winning weekend at the Stockmen's Competition held last month in Frankfurt, IN.

With Taylor Schwartz (Rossville, IL) capturing first place overall; Adam Fisk (Astoria, IL) receiving second overall; Michael Harrell (Carthage, IL) getting fourth overall; and Samantha Sell (Glenwood, IL) winning seventh place overall, Western had a successful weekend up against such schools as the University of Illinois, Penn State University and The Ohio State University.

Western's livestock judging team, which consists of six students and is coached by WIU farm coordinator Bruce Engnell, competed at the regional level, judging cattle, hogs and sheep. This weekend the team will travel to Louisville, KY to compete at the national level.
