Macomb Native Named 2000 CBT Distinguished Alumnus

MACOMB, IL -- A 1979 Western Illinois University graduate and Macomb native
will receive the Western Illinois University 2000 College of Business and Technology
Distinguished Alumnus Award during CBT Week.












Jim Clary, formerly of Macomb, will receive the award at a luncheon Thursday,
Oct. 5. Clary will be on campus that day to present workshops to WIU CBT undergraduate
and graduate students.


Clary, a 1976 Macomb High School graduate, is the CEO and president of Management
Compensation Group in Deerfield. Management Compensation Group is a nationally
recognized firm specializing in advising top-tier clients in the design, implementation,
funding and administration of non-qualified benefit plans.


Because of his expertise in the life insurance field, he has been featured
in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and Business Week, and has appeared on CNBC.
He is a member of the WIU College of Business and Technology's Advisory Board,
and has established the James M. Clary Scholarship Fund for CBT students.


Clary received his bachelor's degree in finance from WIU in 1979. Two years
later he entered the life insurance business with Northwestern Mutual Life.
He is a member of the American Compensation Association, the Midwest Benefits
Council, the Chicago Compensation Association and the Association for Advanced
Life Underwriting.
