MACOMB, IL -- Michael Hott, Physical Plant architectural superintendent, has been named the Western Illinois University May Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to Hott's nominator, "Michael approaches each project -- the Performing Arts Center and Memorial Hall renovation -- with a positive attitude and an ability to help find solutions regardless of the difficulty or intensity of the situation."

"He is creative in accomplishing tasks while bringing new ideas to the table. I have never seen him frustrated or unable to accomplish a task," the nominator added. "Travel and work with architects from out of town has been required on these two projects. Michael has been willing to travel and to accommodate my schedule in order to facilitate the needs of the project. He is an excellent representative of this University."

Hott began working at Western in August 1995.

"Michael is an outstanding employee who is dedicated to the institution and its mission," said Laura Caldwell, Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) public relations representative. "He is to be congratulated for his continued hard work at, and for his commitment, to Western."

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this recognition should contact Caldwell at 309/298-1917 or e-mail LM-Caldwell@wiu.edu.
