MACOMB, IL -- Flapjack fans from near and far are invited to come out for the Collegiate FFA's and the Ag Ed Club's annual pancake and sausage breakfast. Slated for 7-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 in Knoblauch Hall 239 on Western Illinois University's Macomb campus, the annual pancake breakfast helps raise money for the School of Agriculture's CFFA chapter and Agriculture Education (Ag Ed) Club.

"The money we raise will help pay for workshops and other event expenses, such as travel," said Bonnie Peterson, Ag Ed Club president.

WIU's CFFA chapter serves high school agricultural programs in Illinois and promotes scholarship, leadership and service for individuals who will be working in the agricultural industry, while Western's Ag Ed Club is an organization for WIU agricultural education majors, Peterson explained.

"The Ag Ed Club strives to help individuals prepare for their teaching careers by developing professionalism, leadership and communication skills. Our members attend workshops and conduct fundraisers throughout the year," she noted.

The breakfast is open to the public, and tickets are $5 prior to the event and $6 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from any CFFA member, Ag Ed Club member or from the School of Agriculture (Knoblauch Hall 145). For more information, contact Peterson at BS-Peterson@wiu.edu or the School of Agriculture at (309) 298-1080. Learn more about WIU's agriculture student organizations at wiu.edu/ag/stuorg/.
