MACOMB, IL -- Help make a difference for homeless animals in McDonough County by participating in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity's annual "Pike Spike" volleyball tournament 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, April 17. The proceeds from the annual event, to be held at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house at 812 Wigwam Hollow Road in Macomb, will be donated to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.

According to Brandon McDonald, Pi Kappa Alpha special events chair, the fraternity is inviting members of all Greek organizations, as well as Western Illinois University students living in residence halls, students involved in other student organizations on campus and students living off campus, to participate.

"Teams can range from four to six players, and there will be men, women and co-ed brackets," McDonald said. "In addition, we will have food, raffles, music, games, silent auctions and more taking place. By participating in Pike Spike this year, students will not only be involved with one of the largest events at WIU, but they will also enjoy the entertainment and know that they will be supporting a good cause."

The entry fee for each team is $40 ($60 for teams that want to order t-shirts). The rain date for the event is Saturday, April 24.
