MACOMB, IL -- Join Western Illinois University alumnus Shane Mac for his presentation "Stop with all the BS" at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 in Stipes Hall 121. Mac, a Peoria-area (IL) native who earned his bachelor's degree in business from WIU in 2008, is a marketing manager with Seattle-based Gist, an "online service that helps you build stronger relationships."

Mac is also an author; his book "Stop with all the BS" will be available later this year and, he noted, is about "careers, business and what really matters in life."

According to Mac, his presentation will provide students with information about setting themselves apart from other job candidates, today's real business world and how to jump-start a desired career. He also noted that he will provide students with information about how to make a video résumé in less than five minutes.

"Business is changing, and my presentation will open students' eyes to help them see what they may not know even exists," he said. "I plan to present a simple and truthful speech that, hopefully, will get students started on the right step in their careers."
